Free Checking 
"Free" is the key here! It takes nothing to open this account. From there you have no monthly service charges and no per check charges. There are no limits on how many checks you write either.

    Tiered interest-bearing account with limited check writing capability. 
  • Interest is paid on four tiers
  • Interest compounds daily and credited monthly
  • Minimum balance of $1000 to open account
  • $3.00 service fee if balance falls below $1000 any day of the month
  • No service fee in the first 30 days of account opening if balance is below $1000
  • Up to three checks per statement cycle and $10 per item fee for each check in excess of three in a 30 day cycle period
  • Variable interest rate may change the first business day of each month

  • Reg. D limitations: for each calendar month and/or statement cycle, a maximum of six withdrawals or transfers can be made from this account, with only three of these being third party transactions (POS transactions, check card, checks). Six transaction limit includes phone transfers, online bill pay and electronic debits (ACH). Three transaction limit includes check and debit card transactions. Unlimited transactions include ATM and in person branch transactions.
